|Long Term Acute Care Hospital—Legacy II
Wojno Development continues the Legacy of this development with the addition of a Long Term Acute Care Hospital. This 60 bed, 54,000 square foot facility provides the community with an alternative healthcare service for those in need of extended 24/7 healthcare.
An important piece to the Legacy Development is that it will serve the two largest healthcare providers in Akron, Ohio with superior long term healthcare service. The area healthcare providers are Summa Health System and Akron General Medical Center.
Designed in response to the contextual considerations of the district, its simple yet elegant façade provides a contrasting backdrop to the detailed and ornate aesthetics of the Old Akron Post Office. Visitors to the area will note the symbiotic relationship between old and new.
Softening the Market Street façade is an arrangement of trees, in synchronistic rhythm, interrupted by the boulevard entrance which provides the grand controlled entrance to the Legacy Campus. Beyond the Market Street Façade, visitors will experience an “oasis like” campus, lushly landscaped and designed to contrast the urban environment with human scale and picturesque place in the city.
The City benefits from a development that:
- Will Serve Life-Long Community Residents Close to Home
- Provides New Skilled Employment Opportunities
- Brings long-term stability to the area, with the inclusion of a Stable Service Organization
- Is designed to establish a direction for future quality development
